Google Cloud Generative AI Leader Exam Preparation
Preparation for Google Cloud's Generative AI Leader exam, organised around the four sections of the current exam guide: gen AI fundamentals, Google Cloud's gen AI offerings, techniques to improve model output, and business strategy. Covers Gemini, Gemma, Imagen and Veo, Gemini Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (the successor to Vertex AI), Gemini in Workspace and Gemini Notebook, agents and tooling, prompting, grounding and RAG, the Customer Engagement Suite and AI APIs, SAIF and responsible AI, and choosing and measuring use cases. Preparation for the exam, not the Google Cloud certification itself.

The course project 路 about 8 hours
A gen AI adoption proposal for an engineering firm: use-case scoring, Google product mapping, risks and a measured pilot
Write the two-page proposal a Generative AI Leader would take to a board: which gen AI use cases to start with and why, the Google offering for each, the risks and their controls, and how the pilot's value will be measured. Behind it sit the evidence documents: a scored long list of use cases, a product mapping register, a risk register and a pilot measurement and change plan. The sample pack shows each document for an EPC and maintenance services firm in Pune with site teams in Gujarat and Saudi Arabia.
Sample document pack, 5 documents, filled in for the scenario
- ReportGen AI use cases: long list, scores and data readiness
- RegisterGoogle product mapping for the shortlisted use cases
- Risk registerRisks of the gen AI programme and the first pilot
- PlanPilot plan: procedure assistant, KPIs and change management
- PlanGen AI adoption proposal to the managing director
Read inside the course and download as a workbook. The project is optional practice, marked when you submit it; the certificate needs only the modules and the final assessment.

A shareable EDWartens certificate
Finish every module and pass the final assessment, and the optional EDWartens certificate is yours. It carries a unique verification code on a public page anyone can check, so it stands up when a recruiter looks it up. See it below.
The course itself stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
Stuck? Ask a practising engineer
A free course usually means a comment section and hope. This one does not. Every module has an Ask-your-trainer panel that reaches the same engineers who teach our paid programme: people who commission panels for a living, not moderators.
Pairs well with
PLC programming 路 FreeSiemens TIA PortalFrom zero electrical knowledge to a working, simulated S7-1200 program, for nothing.
PLC programming 路 FreeSiemens TIA Portal in Three HoursThe first three hours of the Siemens TIA Portal course, cut to end on a win: what a PLC is, how it is wired, a project configured in TIA Portal, and your first ladder program running in simulation. Finish it in an evening or two, earn a certificate, and carry straight on into the full course.
PLC programming 路 FreeTIA Portal: Build a MachineOne machine, start to finish. Take a bottle filling line from a written specification and an I/O list to a structured S7-1200 program with a fill station, a capper, a reject sorter and an operator screen with alarms, then test it against a written record and archive it for hand-over. The lessons are the reference; the machine is yours, and it is what you submit.
Instrumentation 路 FreeInstrumentation for PLC EngineersThe half of the loop that is not code. Follow one measurement from the transmitter in the field, down the 4-20 mA loop, into the analog card, through NORM_X and SCALE_X into engineering units, out again to a valve, and back to the control room when the reading is wrong.More free courses: Free AI courses for engineers 路 Free AI certification exam preparation courses

Common questions
Is this the Google Cloud Generative AI Leader certification?
No. It is preparation for Google Cloud's Generative AI Leader exam, organised around the exam guide on Google Cloud's site as read on 5 October 2026. The certification is awarded only by Google Cloud to candidates who pass its proctored exam, which you book and pay for with Google Cloud. EDWartens is not affiliated with Google, and every practice question here is original.
What certificate does the Google Cloud Generative AI Leader Exam Preparation course give?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you finish the modules and pass the 15-question final at 60 percent, with a number anyone can verify on our site. It is a certificate of completion for a preparation course, not a Google Cloud certification, and it is never described as one.
Is the course free to learn?
Yes. Every module, the notes, the practice tasks, the project and the final assessment are free. Only the EDWartens certificate is paid, if you want one. The Google Cloud exam is booked and paid for separately with Google Cloud.
Does it use the new product names such as Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Gemini Notebook?
Yes. The notes use the names in the current exam guide: Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (the successor to Vertex AI, announced April 2026), Agent Search, Agent Studio, Gemini Enterprise (formerly Agentspace) and Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM). Some videos were recorded before the renames, and module 1 gives a table to translate the old names.
Do I need coding skills or a Google Cloud account?
No. The exam is for leaders in any role and tests no coding. The practice tasks use the Gemini app, Gemini Notebook or Google AI Studio with a free Google account, and can also be done on paper from the videos and notes. No Google Cloud billing account is needed.
Who is the Google Cloud Generative AI Leader Exam Preparation course for?
Engineering managers, project leads, consultants, engineers and graduates anywhere who need to lead or discuss gen AI work and want a recognised business-level credential. The exam guide's target candidate has business-level knowledge of Google Cloud's gen AI products, not technical implementation skills.
How long does the Google Cloud Generative AI Leader Exam Preparation course take?
About 16 hours of video, notes and practice at your own pace, of which about 11.6 hours is video, including a 3.4-hour full review course. The optional project takes about 8 hours more. Most learners plan four weeks before booking the exam.
What should I take next?
Generative AI and LLM Foundations and RAG and Chatbots with LangChain go deeper into how these systems are built, and AI Agents and MCP for Engineers covers agents in code. For another cloud AI exam, AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) Exam Preparation and Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901) Exam Preparation cover the same ideas on AWS and Azure.
