Questions

Do I need Rockwell software licences?
No. RSLogix Micro Starter Lite and Connected Components Workbench Standard are free; Studio 5000 has a trial, and the courses show what runs in RSLogix Emulate.
Which course first: RSLogix 500 or Studio 5000?
RSLogix 500 if you are new to PLCs, because its file-based addressing teaches the fundamentals; Studio 5000 if you are heading for a plant with Logix controllers.
Is the certificate from Rockwell?
The EDWartens Certificate of Completion is optional, paid, verifiable by code and issued after the final assessment. It is not a vendor credential.
