Who we are

edwartens.com is run by EDWartens, the training division of Wartens.

• Learners in India contract with Wartens Automation Private Limited, CIN U74999KA2019PTC130959, GSTIN 29AACCW5731H1Z4, NVR Complex, Electronic City, Bangalore 560100, India.
• Learners everywhere else contract with Wartens Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15262249, registered office 8 Lyon Road, Milton Keynes MK1 1EX, United Kingdom.

Your country is the one on your account. "We" and "us" mean the company you contract with. You can reach either at info@wartens.com.

Your account

• You need a free account to learn, so your progress and assessments are saved.
• You must be 16 or over. If you are 16 or 17, you need a parent's or guardian's consent, which you confirm when you sign up; your parent or guardian accepts these terms with you.
• Give your real name (it goes on any certificate), a working email address and your true country (it sets your certificate price).
• Keep your password to yourself. One account per person; do not share it.

The free courses

Every course is free to learn in full: the lessons, notes, practice tasks and the final assessment. There is no trial and we do not take a card for learning.

The video lessons are published by independent creators on YouTube and are played from their channels, subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. They belong to their creators, who are credited on each course page. We cannot promise a creator will keep a video online; when one disappears we replace it where we can. We write the study plans, notes, practice tasks and assessments.

We may improve, reorganise or retire courses. Progress you have made is kept where the course continues.

Certificates

• A certificate is optional and is issued only after you pass a course's final assessment.
• It is an EDWartens Certificate of Completion. It records that you completed the course and passed its assessment. It is not a vendor certification (such as Siemens or Rockwell), not a university, government or accredited qualification, and not evidence of competence to work on live equipment.
• Each certificate has a unique code. Anyone with the code or its QR can see, on our verification page, the name on it, the course, the date and whether it is valid. That is the point of it; please bear it in mind before you buy.
• We may cancel a certificate obtained by cheating, impersonation or fraud, and say so on the verification page.

Assessments

The final assessment must be your own work. Do not share questions or answers, use someone else to sit it, or use tools to defeat it. We may reset an attempt or withhold a certificate where the result is not genuine.

Prices and payment

• The certificate price depends on the country on your account and the course level. The price shown before you pay is the price you pay: no tax is added at checkout.
• Learners in India pay in Indian rupees through Razorpay; everyone else pays in US dollars through Stripe. Your bank may charge its own conversion or card fees.
• If your account's country is not where you live, we may charge the correct price or cancel the order and refund you.
• We may change prices for future orders. A price you have paid does not change.

Cancellation and refunds

Your rights to cancel and to a refund are in our refunds and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in it or here limits the rights your local consumer law gives you.

Acceptable use

Do not: copy or resell our notes or assessments; scrape the site; interfere with its security or running; upload anything unlawful, infringing, abusive or containing malware; impersonate anyone; or use the site to send spam.

What you post or upload

Reviews, project work, CVs and other things you upload stay yours. You let us store and process them to provide the service and, for reviews you choose to publish, to show them on the site with your first name.

Reviews. Only learners who have completed every module of a course can review it. We publish reviews as written. We do not hide, delay or rank down reviews because they are negative. We remove a review only if it is unlawful, abusive, off-topic, or not about the reviewer's own experience, and we tell the reviewer why.

AI features

Some tools on the site use AI models to draft or check text (for example the CV and interview helpers, the personal plan and the course advisor). The providers are Groq, Cerebras, NVIDIA, GitHub Models, Mistral, Google Gemini and OpenRouter; the privacy notice says which of them may receive what. Their output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. It is not engineering, safety, legal or careers advice; check it before you rely on it. Do not enter other people's personal information or anything confidential. What you type is sent to the model provider to produce the answer.

Intellectual property

The EDWartens name and logo, our notes, practice tasks, assessments and site design belong to Wartens and its licensors. Product names such as Siemens, TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley and Studio 5000 are trademarks of their owners; we use them only to describe what a course teaches, and no endorsement is implied.

Safety

Our courses teach in simulation. They do not qualify you to work on live electrical, machine or process equipment. Always follow your site's rules, lockout and permit procedures, the manufacturer's instructions and your local regulations.

Our responsibility to you

• Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
• If you buy a certificate, we will provide it with reasonable care and skill and as described. If something goes wrong, see the refund policy.
• We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses (you use the site as a learner, not as a business), or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as a creator removing a video or an internet failure.
• Otherwise, our total liability to you for a paid certificate is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Suspension and closing your account

You can close your account at any time yourself, from your account settings (Settings, then Privacy and data, then Delete account), or by writing to info@wartens.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why unless the law or a safety or fraud concern prevents it. Certificates already issued stay verifiable unless they were obtained by fraud.

Changes to these terms

We will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before a change that matters to them takes effect, unless the law requires a quicker change. The date at the top shows the latest version.

Law and disputes

• If you are in India, Indian law applies and the courts of Bangalore have jurisdiction, without affecting your rights as a consumer.
• Everywhere else, the law of England and Wales applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in and may bring a claim in its courts.
• Please write to us first; most problems are quicker to fix than to argue about. See making a complaint.
