For universities and colleges
See how your students are doing on courses, internships and the PLC lab
No charge to register. New institutions are verified by our team, usually within one working day.
What you get
What a university account gives you
Join by code or invitation
Share one code with a cohort, or invite students by email or from a CSV of names, cohorts, departments and roll numbers. Students link their own EDWartens accounts.
Dashboards by cohort and department
Courses, completions, certificates, internships and PLC lab passes for the students who have linked.
Recommend courses with due dates
Pick courses from the free catalogue and recommend them to everyone or to one cohort.
Follow Wartens internships
See your students' internship level, status, attendance and score, with a read-only faculty view.
A PLC lab in the browser
Plant simulations and a self-running FAT sheet, with no hardware and nothing to install.
Certificate licences for cohorts
Buy certificate seats in bulk for the students who finish a course.
CSV exports
Download student records you can use as evidence in your own accreditation documentation.
Open jobs to share
See the jobs that verified employers have posted, so your placement office can pass them on.
Invite colleagues
Add colleagues to the account, such as your Training and Placement Officer, with owner, manager and member roles.
How it works
From registration to a cohort dashboard
- 01
Register
Create the account with your official email and tell us about the institution. Our team verifies it, usually within one working day.
- 02
Share your code or upload a roster
Give your cohort the join code, or invite students by email or from a CSV.
- 03
Students link and consent
Each student links their own account and agrees to share their progress. Until then you see only the email you typed.
- 04
Follow progress
Watch courses, completions, certificates, internships and lab passes by cohort and department, and recommend what to take next.
Dashboards
What your dashboard shows
- How many students you have invited and how many have linked.
- How many were active in the last 30 days, and who has been inactive for two weeks or more.
- Courses completed and certificates earned, by cohort and department.
- Students on a Wartens internship, with its level, status, attendance and score.
- PLC lab scenarios passed, per student.
- A list of students you can filter by status, cohort, department, name, email or roll number.
- One student's page: their courses with status, their certificates, their internships and their lab passes.
- Your recommended courses, with the due dates you set.
Recommended courses
Point a cohort at the right courses
Free to learn in full
Video lessons, written notes, practice tasks and a final assessment. A student who passes the final can earn a certificate with a public verification code.
Certificates for a whole cohort
Each seat in a team licence is one verifiable certificate for one learner, with a manager dashboard and volume pricing. See team licences.

Supervised internships
Wartens internships your faculty can follow
- Students can take an online Wartens internship at three levels, from self-paced and AI-assessed to mentored by a Wartens engineer or supervised by a team lead.
- Your dashboard shows each linked student's internship level, status, attendance and score.
- When a student adds a faculty mentor's email, the mentor receives a read-only link to the intern's diary, verified hours, evaluations and documents.
- Documents name the level, carry a QR code and can be checked in public. They state verified hours and never award credit: that is your institution's decision.
Placement officers and faculty
Read which level suits which purpose, the documents each one earns and how to ask about a batch on the internships page for colleges.
PLC lab in the browser
Hands-on PLC practice with no hardware
Plant simulations
Students program simulated plants and see their logic run.
A FAT sheet that runs itself
A factory acceptance test (FAT) sheet checks the work automatically.
Nothing to buy or install
A current browser and an internet connection are enough. Passes appear on your dashboard for students who have linked.
Evidence exports
CSV exports for your own documentation
- Download your student records as CSV, for the students who have linked and agreed.
- You may use them as evidence in your own accreditation and quality documentation. Whether they count is for your institution and its accreditation body to decide.
- EDWartens does not claim approval from, or compliance with, any accreditation body. Its certificates are Certificates of Completion, not university or government credentials.
Student privacy
Students stay in control
- Consent first. A student appears on your dashboard with progress only after linking their own account and agreeing to share it.
- Unlink any time. A student can leave your institution with one click, and your view of their progress ends at once.
- Their account, their data. Students keep their own EDWartens account, courses and certificates whether or not they stay linked.
- Separate from the talent pool. Linking to your institution does not put a student in the employer talent pool. That is a separate choice they make themselves.

Ask us insteadThere is no charge to register your institution. The courses are free to learn in full. A student's EDWartens certificate is an optional paid item, and an institution that wants to cover its students' certificates can buy certificate seats in bulk through team licences. Pricing may change in future; this page states the current position.
Share your join code with a cohort, or invite students by email or from a CSV. A student signs in with their own EDWartens account, or creates a free one, enters the code or accepts the invitation, and agrees to share their progress. Until a student does that, you see only the email address you typed.
For students who have linked and agreed: the courses they have started and finished, their certificates, when they were last active, any Wartens internship (level, status, attendance and score) and the PLC lab scenarios they have passed. You can filter by cohort and department.
Yes, at any time. A student can unlink from your institution with one click, and your view of their progress ends at once.
The CSV exports are records of what your students did on EDWartens. You can use them as evidence in your own accreditation or quality documentation, but whether they count is for your institution and its accreditation body to decide. EDWartens does not claim approval from, or compliance with, any accreditation body, and its certificates are Certificates of Completion, not university or government credentials.
No. Only your institution awards credit. A Wartens internship document states its level and the hours that were verified, and a certificate states that the learner completed a course. Whether either counts towards a degree is your decision.
No. The lab runs in a web browser, with plant simulations and a factory acceptance test (FAT) sheet that runs itself to check the work. Students need a current browser and an internet connection, and nothing is installed.
Students choose to share, and you see progress only for the students who have linked and agreed. EDWartens is run by Wartens Ltd (UK); our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Once your institution exports data, it is in your hands and your own data protection duties apply to it.
