The course project 路 about 18 hours
Ice plant IP-1: two ammonia compressors, brine pump and cold-store door interlocks on an XBC-DR32H
Design, program, test and document the control system for a fish processor's ice plant: two ammonia reciprocating compressors staged lead/lag on brine temperature with run-hour balancing, a brine pump that must prove flow before either runs, the compressor protections (high and low pressure, oil pressure with a start bypass, overload, cooling water), cold-store door interlocks on the evaporator fans, an ammonia gas detector with an exhaust fan, PT100 brine and store temperatures on an XBF-RD04A, condensing and suction pressures on an XBF-AD04A, and an eXP40 screen over Ethernet. You deliver the XG5000 project with a compressor function block, your own I/O list, motor list and FAT record, and the operator note. The sample pack shows what an integrator hands over for the same plant.

A shareable EDWartens certificate
Finish every module and pass the final assessment, and the optional EDWartens certificate is yours. It carries a unique verification code on a public page anyone can check, so it stands up when a recruiter looks it up. See it below.
The course itself stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
Stuck? Ask a practising engineer
A free course usually means a comment section and hope. This one does not. Every module has an Ask-your-trainer panel that reaches the same engineers who teach our paid programme: people who commission panels for a living, not moderators.

Common questions
Is XG5000 free?
Yes. XG5000 and XG-PM are free downloads from LS Electric, and XG5000 includes a simulator.
Where is LS Electric used?
In OEM machines, water and HVAC packages and panels where a cost-effective IEC PLC with EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT is wanted; AutomationDirect's documentation makes it well supported.
Which languages does the course use?
Ladder mainly, with modules on ST, SFC and IL.
Is the LS Electric XGB PLC with XG5000 course really free?
Yes. Every module, practice task and assessment. You create an account so your progress is saved and the assessments can be marked. The certificate is the only paid item, and only if you want it.
What certificate do I get, and is it an LS Electric qualification?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you pass the final assessment, with a verification code anyone can check. It is not an LS Electric credential and is never described as one.
Who made the video lessons in the LS Electric XGB PLC with XG5000 course?
