The course project 路 about 14 hours
A hill hotel's water and sewage plant: LOGO! 8 for the tanks and garden, S7-200 SMART for the STP
Design, program, test and document two small control systems for one hotel: a LOGO! 8 that fills the rooftop tank from the sump and runs the garden pump on a weekly timer, and an S7-200 SMART with a Smart 700 IE panel that runs the sewage treatment plant's blowers, sludge pumps and treated-water pump on timed cycles with a dissolved-oxygen probe. You deliver both programs, your own I/O list for both panels, and one FAT record covering both. The sample pack shows what a small contractor hands over when the client is a hotel and not a factory.

A shareable EDWartens certificate
Finish every module and pass the final assessment, and the optional EDWartens certificate is yours. It carries a unique verification code on a public page anyone can check, so it stands up when a recruiter looks it up. See it below.
The course itself stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
Stuck? Ask a practising engineer
A free course usually means a comment section and hope. This one does not. Every module has an Ask-your-trainer panel that reaches the same engineers who teach our paid programme: people who commission panels for a living, not moderators.

Common questions
Is LOGO! a PLC?
Siemens calls it a logic module. It programs like a small PLC in FBD or LAD and is the right tool for building and small-machine tasks; the S7-200 SMART modules show the step up to a compact PLC.
Do I need hardware?
No. The LOGO!Soft Comfort demo simulates every block. A LOGO! 8 starter kit is inexpensive if you want to wire things.
Some source lessons are members-only. Are they included?
No. Fourteen members-only analog lessons from one series were left out; the analog module uses public lessons from two other creators instead.
Why is the S7-200 SMART here?
It is the natural next step from LOGO! for small machines in China, India and the other Asian markets where it is sold, and its free tool makes the basics quick to learn.
Is the Siemens Small Controllers: LOGO! 8 and S7-200 SMART course really free?
Yes. Every module, practice task and assessment. You create an account so your progress is saved and the assessments can be marked. The certificate is the only paid item, and only if you want it.
What certificate do I get, and is it a Siemens qualification?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you pass the final assessment, with a verification code anyone can check. It is not a Siemens credential and is never described as one.
Who made the video lessons in the Siemens Small Controllers: LOGO! 8 and S7-200 SMART course?
