Six Sigma Green Belt Training for Manufacturing
The Green Belt body of knowledge worked through in order, with the arithmetic done rather than described: sigma level from DPU and DPMO, the cost of poor quality, Define with voice of the customer, CTQ, charter and SIPOC, Measure with process maps, data scales and a crossed Gage R&R study, capability with Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk, Analyse with the seven quality tools, FMEA, hypothesis tests, ANOVA and regression, Improve with a designed experiment, and Control with X bar R and attribute charts and a control plan production can run without you.

What you will learn
Run a DMAIC project end to end on a real process. Convert reject data into DPU, DPMO and a sigma level, and cost the problem. Write a charter and a SIPOC that fix the scope, and turn customer complaints into CTQs with a unit, a target and limits. Build a data collection plan, then prove the gauge with a crossed Gage R&R before trusting a single reading. Compute Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk and convert them into expected PPM. Find root causes with the seven quality tools and FMEA. Decide whether a difference is real with one-sample and two-sample tests and ANOVA, fit and read a regression, and design a simple factorial experiment. Then hold the gain with X bar R and attribute control charts and a written control plan.
- Turn a month of reject data into DPU, DPMO and a sigma level, and cost the problem
- Fix a project with a one-page charter and a SIPOC, and write CTQs that carry a unit, a target and limits
- Run a crossed Gage R&R and judge the gauge by percent study variation and number of distinct categories
- Compute Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk from raw readings and convert an index into an expected parts per million
- Decide whether a difference is real with one-sample and two-sample tests, ANOVA and regression
- Hold the gain with X bar R and attribute control charts and a control plan production can follow without you

DMAIC on a die-casting line: porosity rejects from 6.8 % to under 2 % with a gauge study, a factorial and a control plan
Run a Green Belt project end to end on a high-pressure die-casting line whose gearbox housings fail the leak test for porosity: cost the problem, write the charter, SIPOC and CTQs, prove the leak tester with a crossed Gage R&R (and fix it when it fails), establish baseline capability and sigma level, test the suspected causes with t-tests, ANOVA and regression, run a 2鲁 factorial, then hold the gain with X虅-R and p charts and a control plan. You deliver your own charter, Measure and Analyse reports with the arithmetic shown, control plan and data. The sample pack shows what the sponsor sees at each tollgate.

A shareable EDWartens certificate
Finish every module and pass the final assessment, and the optional EDWartens certificate is yours. It carries a unique verification code on a public page anyone can check, so it stands up when a recruiter looks it up. See it below.
The course itself stays free whether or not you ever buy one.
Stuck? Ask a practising engineer
A free course usually means a comment section and hope. This one does not. Every module has an Ask-your-trainer panel that reaches the same engineers who teach our paid programme: people who commission panels for a living, not moderators.

PLC programming 路 FreeSiemens TIA PortalFrom zero electrical knowledge to a working, simulated S7-1200 program, for nothing.
PLC programming 路 FreeSiemens TIA Portal in Three HoursThe first three hours of the Siemens TIA Portal course, cut to end on a win: what a PLC is, how it is wired, a project configured in TIA Portal, and your first ladder program running in simulation. Finish it in an evening or two, earn a certificate, and carry straight on into the full course.
PLC programming 路 FreeTIA Portal: Build a MachineOne machine, start to finish. Take a bottle filling line from a written specification and an I/O list to a structured S7-1200 program with a fill station, a capper, a reject sorter and an operator screen with alarms, then test it against a written record and archive it for hand-over. The lessons are the reference; the machine is yours, and it is what you submit.
Instrumentation 路 FreeInstrumentation for PLC EngineersThe half of the loop that is not code. Follow one measurement from the transmitter in the field, down the 4-20 mA loop, into the analog card, through NORM_X and SCALE_X into engineering units, out again to a valve, and back to the control room when the reading is wrong.More free courses: Free Six Sigma and quality courses 路 Free project management courses

Common questions
Is this the same as an ASQ or IASSC Green Belt certification?
No. ASQ and IASSC each run their own paid Green Belt examinations and issue their own credentials, and that is usually what an employer means by the phrase. This course is free EDWartens training against the Green Belt body of knowledge. It is preparation for a Green Belt role, and preparation for a paid certification examination if you choose to sit one. It is not an ASQ or IASSC certification, EDWartens is not affiliated with either body, and nothing here is described as equivalent to their credentials.
What do I need to know before starting?
School-level algebra, and enough time on a shop floor or in a quality department to describe one real process. No earlier statistics course is assumed. The average, the standard deviation, the normal curve and every test used later are built up inside the course.
Do I need Minitab?
No. Minitab appears in some lessons because it is what many quality departments use, and the notes say what it is doing at each step. Every calculation in the practice tasks can be done in a spreadsheet such as MS Excel, and the capability, control chart and hypothesis test modules are worked that way.
Do I need a factory to do the practice tasks?
It helps, and most tasks are written for your own line: a month of reject data, fifty consecutive readings, twenty five subgroups of five, an instrument for the Gage R&R. If you are not on a shop floor at the moment, each task can be done on the sample data given with it, and the arithmetic and the judgement are the same.
Is the Six Sigma Green Belt Training for Manufacturing course really free?
Yes. Every module, practice task and assessment costs nothing. You create an account so your progress is saved and the assessments can be marked. The certificate is the only optional paid item.
What certificate does the Six Sigma Green Belt Training for Manufacturing course give?
An EDWartens Certificate of Completion, issued when you have finished every module and passed the final assessment at 60 per cent, with a verification code anyone can check. It records training against the Green Belt body of knowledge. It is not a vendor credential, it is not an accredited Green Belt certification, and it is never described as one.
Who made the video lessons in the Six Sigma Green Belt Training for Manufacturing course?
The creators named in the Credits block at the foot of this page, on their own YouTube channels: NPTEL IIT Kharagpur for the lecture spine, Digital E-Learning for the phase explainers and The Open Educator for the Excel and Minitab work. EDWartens did not make the videos and the creators are not affiliated with EDWartens. What EDWartens wrote is the study plan, the module notes, the practice tasks and the assessments.
Will this help me move from production into quality or continuous improvement?
That is who it is written for. Quality and CI engineer posts at automotive, electronics and FMCG plants name Green Belt on the requirement line, and the interview asks you to walk through a DMAIC project, read a Cpk against a customer requirement and say what a control chart told you. This course gives you the body of knowledge and the worked arithmetic; whether you later pay for an ASQ or IASSC examination is a separate decision.
