  • An internet connection
  • Nothing to download
  • A webcam, or a few pictures saved on your device

Open it

  1. 1.Open teachablemachine.withgoogle.com and choose Get Started.

You should see: A page asks which kind of project you want.

  2. 2.Choose Image Project, then Standard image model.

You should see: A screen with two classes, Class 1 and Class 2, opens.

  3. 3.Add a few pictures to each class, using the webcam or upload.

You should see: Each class shows a row of small thumbnails.

Check that it works

  1. 1.Press Train Model and wait for it to finish.

You should see: A preview panel appears and shows which class it thinks the camera sees.

If something goes wrong

The webcam does not start.
Allow camera access in the browser's address bar, and close other apps that use the camera.
The model guesses wrong.
Add more pictures to each class, in different light and angles, then train again.
Training is slow on my phone.
Use a computer, or use fewer pictures.

If you cannot or do not want to install

Without a camera, describe your classes and a few example pictures in a table and discuss them with the AI mentor.

Leaving it

  • There is nothing to uninstall. Close the tab when you are done.
