The short answer
Yes. In a free course, press Ask AI to ask EDWartens AI about the module you have open. It explains ideas and gives examples, but never gives assessment answers. You can ask up to 40 questions a day.

An answer from the module's notes
Every free course has an AI tutor, EDWartens AI.
- Open a module of a free course.
- Press Ask AI.
- Type your question in Ask about this module, or tap one of the suggested questions.
The tutor answers from the module you have open (its notes and reading) and the course outline. It can explain a topic again, give a real plant example, list common mistakes, or quiz you with one question.
What it will not do:
- give the answers to the final assessment
- help with other subjects or personal matters
Limits: up to 40 questions a day, and up to 1,500 characters in each question. Your chat is not stored on our server; New chat clears it. The AI can make mistakes, so check anything important against the notes.
For problems with your account, a payment or a certificate, ask a person instead: see How do I reach a person?.
