How do I build a resume, skill passport and portfolio?

The short answer

Open Career in your student menu. The Resume tab builds a resume from templates, the Skills tab shows your skill passport from passed results, and the Portfolio tab makes a page you can share.

Where to build

Student menu

  1. Click Career
  2. Click Resume

Also Skills and Portfolio tabs

All three live under Career in the student menu. They are free.

Resume studio

On the Resume tab:

  • pick a template from the gallery and fill in your details, or upload a PDF or Word file (up to 10 MB) and check what we read from it
  • keep more than one version, for example one for each type of job
  • download as a PDF, or as Word on templates that allow it

Skill passport

On the Skills tab, each skill level is built only from passed results: course assessments, lab tests, projects and certificates. A level never comes from quizzes alone, and each skill shows its evidence and what would raise it. Skills you only typed in are listed apart, with no level.

Portfolio

On the Portfolio tab you build a page at edwartens.com/p/ followed by your own address. It is private until you publish it. See How do I publish my portfolio page?.

Job simulations on your profile

A finished job simulation can appear under Work experience, always marked as a job simulation.
