3D Lab
Opening the lab, saving work, devices, levels
- What is the 3D Lab and is it free? The 3D Lab is a set of engineering labs that run in your browser: wire a panel, write PLC logic, teach a robot, tune a loop and more. Opening a lab, doing the levels and passing the test are free.
- How do I open the 3D Lab?Go to the 3D Lab page and press Start a free lab. It opens lab.edwartens.com, where you pick a lab and a level. You can start without an account and sign in free to record your results.
- Does the 3D Lab work on my phone or in my browser?Yes. The labs run on phones, tablets and laptops in a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. A laptop or large tablet is easier for wiring and ladder logic, because you have more room.
- Is my 3D Lab work saved?Yes. If you are signed in, your work is saved to your account for each level. If you are not, it is kept on this device and moves to your account when you sign in.
- How do the lab levels and the acceptance test work? Each level starts with a brief, you do the job in 3D, then a factory acceptance test checks your work against the brief. It lists every check, and you can fix what failed and run it again.
- Where can I watch the lab videos? The 3D Lab page has a tour video, and each lab has a short walkthrough on lab.edwartens.com so you can see what you will do before you start.
- Where do I see my lab results?Open EDWartens Lab in your student menu to see My lab work: where to continue, your progress and the levels you have passed. Results are recorded only when you are signed in.
- I use the lab from edwartens.co.uk: how do I sign in?Open the lab from your partner site while you are signed in there. It signs you in to a lab-only account, separate from an edwartens.com account, so you do not sign in again.
