AI Marketing Internship Online: Projects to Show

An AI marketing internship online lets you practise the work of a marketing team with an assistant at your side: a brief, a draft, a check, an edit, a measure. You do not need to code, and you use an invented brand. The first 4 weeks are free and cover the funnel, human-sounding content, search with AI, and social media planning.

One fact about our own programme, so you can judge everything here fairly. The EDWartens internships are training, not employment. The first 4 weeks are free, with no fee to join, and finishing them earns a free certificate of completion with a QR code anyone can scan to verify it. Continuing past week 4 is paid, and so is the graded Internship Certificate (included from 24 weeks); prices are shown in your own currency before you pay. There is no stipend, and we do not promise a job, an interview or a placement.

What does an AI marketing internship cover?

Week 1 places AI on the marketing funnel, from stranger to loyal customer, and along the customer journey and its touchpoints. It also covers what AI gets wrong, what never goes into a public chatbot, and the rule to own it, record it and review it. Week 2 is writing content with AI that still sounds human: a good brief, a brand voice sheet, draft then check then edit then add yourself, spotting text that sounds like AI, and one piece in many formats.

Week 3 is search when people search with AI: how a page reaches an answer, SEO in plain words, structuring a page for answers, using AI for SEO research safely, and being named in AI answers. Google's SEO starter guide is a plain reference for the basics (page read 18 October 2026). Week 4 is social media planning and creative: strategy before posts, one idea shaped for each platform, content pillars, a calendar with a reason and a measure, and AI images checked and labelled before you post. Those four weeks are free.

Why does the course start with a brief?

Because an assistant gives you what you ask for, and a vague ask returns a vague draft. The lab task Prompt to spec, in week 2, makes you write a prompt that produces output in a fixed shape, so the next step can use it. That is the marketing habit of the brief, applied to a model: say who it is for, what it must do, what it must not say, and how you will judge it.

Draft, check, edit and add yourself is the second habit. Text that sounds like AI is easy to spot, and readers notice. The course teaches you to find the parts that need a real fact, a real example or your own voice, and to put them in before anything goes out.

What happens in weeks 5 to 8?

These weeks are paid. Week 5 is ads and keyword research with AI: search ads and display ads, keyword research, matching the keyword to intent, ad headlines, four ad numbers, and testing one change at a time. Week 6 is email and campaigns: a sequence with one goal per email, consent and unsubscribe, subject lines that earn the open, AI campaign assistants, and reading the email numbers.

Week 7 is measuring results and AI disclosure: measure against the goal, vanity metrics and value metrics, return on ad spend and cost per lead, attribution in plain words, asking AI to explain then checking it, and telling people when AI helped. In the UK, the ASA and CAP publish the advertising rules and guidance (page read 18 October 2026), and the ICO publishes guidance for organisations on data and marketing (page read 18 October 2026). The course points you to this kind of source and teaches the habit of checking the rules for your own country.

Week 8 is a campaign plan built with AI: a plan on one page, audience and message, channels and a content calendar, a budget split in units, and targets, disclosure and review. The checked task Check the AI's work: marketing sits in week 7.

What can you show afterwards, and what should you not claim?

A one-page campaign plan, a brand voice sheet, a content calendar, an SEO outline, a set of ad headlines and an email sequence, each built on an invented brand. Label them as training work. Do not claim results you did not measure, and do not use a real client's brief. Share the free certificate of completion for weeks 1 to 4, which anyone can verify by QR code.

What do you do each day?

A remote internship day here is five small steps. Nothing is timed.

  1. Check in. Say hello to the simulated team and see what is planned for today. The colleagues are simulated and labelled as such.
  2. Learn. Read a few short lessons on content, search, ads and measurement. Each lesson takes a few minutes.
  3. Today's practice. Answer a few quick questions on what you read, with the reason shown after each one.
  4. Lab practical. Open the AI Workbench and plan a piece of content for an invented brand.
  5. End-of-day update. Write two lines on what you did and what is next.

Which three lab practicals will you do?

Three of the practicals, by name. Each opens in a browser lab, and each is optional practice that never holds you back.

  • Prompt to spec (AI Workbench, week 2)
  • Check the AI's work: marketing (AI Workbench, week 7)
  • Data health check (AI Workbench, week 8)

Questions

What does an AI marketing intern do?

You practise using AI for the funnel, content that still sounds human, search when people search with AI, social media, ads and keyword research, email and campaigns, and measuring results. Each week ends with a check on the AI's output.

Do I need to code for an AI marketing internship?

No. You need no marketing experience or AI knowledge. Practice uses a document, Google Sheets, Canva and a free chat assistant.

Do I need an existing brand to practise on?

No. You can use an invented brand or your own project, never a client's private plans.

Is there a free AI marketing internship with a certificate?

The first 4 weeks are free and earn a free certificate of completion. Continuing past 4 weeks is paid. It is training, not employment, so there is no stipend and no job is promised.

What marketing project can I show after the internship?

A campaign plan built with AI from the week 8 mini project, and a checked AI Workbench task on verifying the AI's marketing work, with the free certificate of completion for weeks 1 to 4.
