Pass the test. Want a certificate employers can check? It's US$23.99.

Why is it free?

Because the best way to find out if a skill is for you is to try it, not to pay for it first.

Courses, the lab and the internships cost nothing. We earn when you choose a certificate, join a classroom course, or when companies post jobs and test candidates here. That keeps learning free for everyone else.

Questions

Before you start

Are the courses really free?

Yes. Every course is free to learn in full: every video lesson, note, practice task and the final assessment. You need a free account so your progress is saved. There is no card and no trial.

Do I have to pay for the certificate?

Only if you want one. Learning is free in full, including the final assessment. The certificate is optional, and its one-off fee is shown on the course page before you pay.

What does the certificate prove?

That you finished the course and passed its final assessment: 15 questions from the whole course, 60% to pass. It names the course, the skills it covered and the date, and carries a number and QR code anyone can check.

Is it a Siemens or Rockwell certification?

No. It is an EDWartens Certificate of Completion. It is not a vendor, university or government qualification, and the page an employer checks says so.

Do I need a PLC or special hardware?

No. The courses use the vendors' free or trial software with simulators, such as PLCSIM, Connected Components Workbench and CODESYS.

Who made the video lessons?

Independent engineers and educators on YouTube, credited on every course page. EDWartens writes the study plan, notes, practice tasks and assessment around them.

Not sure where to start? Just ask.
